Style Network tackles self-loathing for fun and profit
“There are so many things that I hate about me,” Ambar says. “I would love to be able to look in the mirror and know that the face in front of me everyone else loves, so why can’t I?”
Host Lisa Arch, who also appears on the network’s “Clean House,” takes Ambar from expert to expert to learn how to solve her problems.
“You’re about to love what you hate,” Arch says in the opening. Some problems are easily fixed. One quick visit to beauty expert Stacy Cox and Ambar’s mustache is a thing of the past. Makeup artist Tracy Davis uses some fancy concealer to get rid of the circles under Ambar’s eyes.
Other problems don’t seem solved at all. Fashion expert Jen Menchaca tells Ambar to wear boots to mask her short jeans, to roll up a jacket with short sleeves and to turn empire dresses into tunics. There should be a better fix for Ambar, who stands over 6 feet tall.
