Bridal Expo offers prospective brides chance to browse many wedding vendors
DECATUR - Samantha Bishop was working at Block's Brewery last week when her boyfriend, Erik Lamb, came in to eat.
She noticed he paid for the meal, but instead of leaving a tip he wrote on the bottom of the receipt "Will you marry me?"
She has been excited ever since about their engagement and couldn't pass up the opportunity to attend Bridal Expo 2010 at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel on Friday.
Bishop, 20, who also attends Millikin University, stopped at every vendor at the Bridal Expo to get ideas for her wedding, which is set for July 30, 2011.
She delighted in tasting pork loin from Nelson's Catering to sampling cakes from Heavenly Delight Cakes. She registered for china and got prices from different photographers.
"Watching her plan is so exciting," said her mother, Susan Bishop, who is a breast cancer survivor and can't wait to see her daughter walk down the aisle to matrimony.
